| Curriculum St.
Philip’s early childhood curriculum is planned
with the young child in mind. It is culturally
and linguistically responsive, challenging,
engaging, and developmentally appropriate. The
curriculum focuses on the development of
cognitive, social, emotional, spiritual, and
physical skills. It builds on the child’s prior
learning and experiences. Hands-on activities
promote skill development in the areas of
literacy, math, science, social studies, art,
and music. During “Jesus Time” the children
learn about Jesus as their Savior through Bible
stories, songs, and prayers. Children have the
opportunity to share God’s love with family and
friends.
Children learn as they play
with different materials provided during the
course of the day. Through play children find
out about their world and how things work. Play
provides children with the opportunity to
practice what they are learning. The children
learn how to make choices, develop
self-confidence, and learn life skills.
