Thanksgiving is just a week away and the classrooms at St. Philip are filled with conversations about what we are thankful for. There are the obvious answers of home, family, friends, and food. The younger students may say they are thankful for their favorite toy, while our older students may focus on nights with less homework. Truth is, there is so much we each have to be thankful for!
St. Philip is no different. We are thankful for our families, both school and church, and we give thanks for our kind & caring staff. As we continue to mentally check off the boxes of that which we are thankful for, we stop at a BIG one....our faith. Our faith in knowing that God loves us, protects us, and has a plan for us. The faith that reminds us that he sent his son to die for our sins. It is this faith that our teachers eagerly look forward to sharing with their students, each and every day. Faith, and the environment that a Christian school creates, is what sets us apart from our neighboring schools and for that, we are thankful. It's that small voice coming from our preschool classroom as they talk about Jesus, or the actions of our middle schoolers as they recognize that they are faithful examples to their younger friends.
As you celebrate Thanksgiving this next week, our hope is that you are also thankful for faith and for the role that St. Philip plays in allowing that faith to grow.
